Kenya eTA: what to check before you book
Use the official portal, check the rules for your passport, and build time into your travel plan.
Entry requirements change, so treat any travel guide as a starting point rather than the final word. Kenya’s immigration service directs travellers to its Electronic Travel Authorisation system. Before booking non-refundable travel, use the official guidance for your nationality and itinerary.
Start with the official source
The government eTA portal explains the application process, eligibility and the information requested. Avoid relying on lookalike commercial sites or screenshots shared in old travel threads.
Apply before travelling
Kenya’s Directorate of Immigration says travellers should have an approved eTA before they begin their journey. Give yourself more time than the minimum guidance, especially around holidays or a complex itinerary.
Keep a record of what you submitted
Save the confirmation, your travel details and any accommodation documents in an easy-to-reach place. Airlines and border officials may ask for information in a different order from the application form.
